If you read my previous post you know that I was pretty hell bent on making it to Cape Flattery, the furthest northwest point of the United States. As you may have also noticed is that it is the middle of winter and the Pacific Northwest is not exactly the optimal place to be this time of year when traveling on a motorcycle. Fortunately, I am a stubborn individual and not one to complain to much about inclement weather, in fact, I almost thrive in it. There's just something about being out there, charging through the muck while most everyone else is hunkered down in front of the fireplace. It gives you the feeling of being a warrior heading into battle, braving the elements and putting yourself to the test. It's a way of testing your own willpower and dare I say, toughness, that is guaranteed to keep you young and spry.

Breakdowns and wrenching on the side of the road in the dark, wrong turns getting me way lost, heavy rains, freezing cold....(nope, the heat not so much), but the rest of that stuff always made for the best stories later over a cold beverage. Haven't seen any posts from you lately Charlie. I hope you are ok.
I never remember the perfect weather rides, only the horrible one. And I look back fondly at them.
