"Finding Nowhere"

I was awoken by an incredible chorus of birdsong as the sun shed it’s first light across what had seemed like a lifeless sand wash the evening before. I laid still in my tent for some time listening to the unique melodies of the birds, sounds I’ve never heard before. Upon exiting my tent the sounds quickly dissipated to my disappointment. My friend Erik emerged from his tent and we prepared coffee and oatmeal as we discussed the unique birds we had heard and enjoyed the start of the day.
